Preparing for a No Deal Brexit

If no agreement is secured between the UK and the EU before the 29th March 2019, the UK will leave the European Union and subsequently trade under WTO rules. To mitigate potential risk, we have had to plan for this scenario. To assist with your own preparations and to help, we would like you to consider the following key information:-

1. EORI number - If you have not already done so you will need to apply for an EORI (Economic Operator Registration and Identification) number. You can apply for your EORI number via the following link.

2. TSP (Transitional Simplified Procedures) – This is new and it is strongly recommended that all importers apply immediately. Only importers can apply for this authorisation; for guidance and how to apply for TSP can be found via the links below. Once you have done this you can import most goods into the UK without having to make a full customs declaration at the port and postpone paying your customs duties.

3. Authority for a Customs Clearance Agent to act as a Direct Representative – Please complete the ACCA Form and send back to your main contact at Laser Transport.

4. Supporting paperwork – Please make sure that your shipments are supported by a commercial export/import invoice, that includes the correct value and customs commodity code.

We recommend you keep yourself updated via government links below and if you have not already done so, register to receive updates from the UK Government.

If you require any further information or clarification on the above, please do not hesitate to contact us.
